The prison in Uherské Hradiště thus undergoes a fragmentation of building elements, which I then put together into compositions without regard to architectural rules. While I work with the walls of the prison in an almost unrestricted way, the original wooden beds of the prisoners remain intact and thus serve as a reminder of the history of the prison. In the past, the prison has faced efforts to hide, demolish, or replace its history. Therefore, the prison is hidden behind its original walls surrounding the complex. The wall becomes a kind of instrument (a knife, a divider) with the ability to separate past and present. The wall thus forms a structure that runs through the city.
